Operation Energise honoured at Parliament House

Volunteers and Supporters of this year’s Operation Energise campaign were honoured at State Parliament today by Government MPs Mark Bailey and Shane King.

ETU Members as well as supporters such as Electro Group, Ergon, Energex, Stowe, Energy Super, Powerlink, Perigon, Electrical Safety Office and Mates in Construction were presented with certificates by the two Labor MPs for their work and sponsorship of the campaign to return power supply and fix electrical faults for residents in the Bowen, Proserpine and Airlie Beach regions, hit by Cyclone Debbie earlier this year.

Operation Energise convenor and ETU Assistant Secretary Keith McKenzie congratulated all in attendance for their ongoing support of the initiative, which has provided disaster relief in response to extreme weather events along the eastern seaboard of Queensland for the past decade.
