How do I join?

Joining is easy. Simply select the "BECOME A MEMBER" tab or Join Now in the Membership drop down and follow the prompts. On receipt of your payment you will receive by post a ‘New Member Pack’ containing your financial receipt and OK Card along with information on the ETU Insurance Benefits, ETU Health Cover, Free Legal Advice and other Services and Products provided to our financial Members. How much are Membership Fees?

Membership fees vary based on your Employment Classification and the Industry Sector you are employed in. The annual membership dues are prorated based on your joining date, and are fully tax deductible. For an estimate of fees please call 1800 388 937 or email [email protected]

What are my Payment Options?

Current members who choose to pay annually prior to end of financial year receive an Early Bird Discount of 10% off subscription fees or you can opt for the convenience of Direct Debit to pay by installment either weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly. Direct Debit does not incur any additional charges. Payment can be also be made by credit card over the phone on 1800 388 937, by Bpay using details noted on your invoice, or online by Signing In to this website and selecting "Member Portal" or "Pay Your Dues" from the Membership drop down tab at the top of the page.

I am an ETU Member Interstate. Can I transfer my Membership to QLD NT branch?

Yes, our branch is open to all workers of all sectors of the Electrical Industry of Queensland and Northern Territory. If you are an ETU Member interstate, simply select the "BECOME A MEMBER" tab at the top of the page and complete the application and payment details.  We will arrange for a transfer of your membership on your behalf. I am an existing Member relocating to work in another State?

If you are relocating and will be working in another State simply complete an Application and Join the ETU branch in that State. They will then contact us to request transfer of your Membership. Please ensure your account and contact details are up to date with us at the time.

How do I access my Membership Account online?

Our Member Portal is available 24/7. Simply Sign in to this website or select "Member Portal" from the Membership drop down tab at the top of the page.  You can Sign in by using your registered email address as your username. If it is your first time logging in, you will need to select Forgot Password and follow the emailed link to set up your new password. Once logged in you can view and update your contact and employment details, view and download your payments and receipts for your records and tax purposes. I am having difficulty logging in to my Membership Account.

To access your Membership Account you need to login to the ETU Website www.etu.org.au using your registered email address as your username. If you are unsure of the email you previously provided us, or need to update it, please contact us on 1800 388 937 or email [email protected] and we can update your user credentials. If you have forgotten your password simply follow the prompts at login and click ‘forgot password’ to set a new one.

How do I update my Membership Details?

Simply Sign In to this Website and select your Member Portal from the Membership drop down tab.  You can view and update your contact, employment or bank account details.

I am unemployed and/or looking for work. Are you able to assist?

As a financial Member of our Branch you have access to the ETU Site Listing. This listing provides information on current projects on the go throughout Queensland and Northern Territory to assist you in sourcing Employment Opportunities. To access and download the listing please sign in to the Member Portal . Alternatively, contact our office on 1800 388 937 or speak with your ETU Organiser.

What happens if my Membership Account is overdue and I am un-financial?

Your ETU Membership is there to protect you. Don’t risk your livelihood or that of your family by being un-financial. We understand there are varying reasons payment can be overlooked such as unemployment, time out of the industry, hardship, or not receiving communication due to your contact details not being current. If your account is overdue please call us on 1800 388 937 to discuss your circumstances so we can determine the most convenient option to see you financial again and ensure your Member Benefits and Entitlements are once again in effect.

I no longer wish to be a Member. What do I need to do?

We understand there are several reasons Members may wish to Resign from the Union such as Retirement, no longer working in the Electrical Industry, moving overseas, or perhaps a Grievance.  Please discuss the matter with your Organiser or call the ETU on 1800 388 937 so that we can assist you with the best course of action.

Members who wish to resign are required to submit their request by email to [email protected] or in writing to the State Secretary. Please explain your circumstances and include your Roll Number, current employer and occupation, current contact details and Date of Birth. Members also have an obligation to be financial at the date the resignation is received.
