From Darwin to the Gold Coast ETU members attended May Day rallies where the the messages were clear – “Malcolm Turnbull and his fools, let’s Vote them out and change the rules” and “What do we do when we are under attack, Stand Up Fight Back”
The ETU contingent was strong in all regions, ranging from more than 1200 in Brisbane and more than 300 in Darwin to smaller but no less passionate roll-outs on the Sunshine Coast, Alice Springs, Moranbah, Blackwater and others.
The largest regional turnouts were in Cairns where 200 members and their families in Cairns, 150 in Toowoommba and more than a 100 in Bundaberg, Gladstone and Ipswich. while Maryborough, Gold Coast, Mackay, Townsville and Rockhampton also had solid turnouts.
