Contracting for electrical work in Queensland
You must have an electrical contractor licence if you are providing electrical work for others as a sole trader, in partnership or corporation. Under the provisions of Section 40 of the ES Regulation, Schedule 1, an electrical contractor licence from another jurisdiction is not an external equivalent to a Queensland contractor licence.
This means you must also hold a current Queensland electrical contractor licence to contract for electrical work in Queensland.
Refer to Section 48 of the ES Regulation for more information on eligibility requirements for an electrical contractor licence.
Note: There is no external equivalent licence to a Queensland Electrical Contractor licence.
